COVID-19 Statement

Updated April 30, 2020

As you all are aware, the Governor of Texas recently laid out a strategic plan to begin to re-open Texas.  While there is a phasing plan for retailers and other workplaces with specific guidelines and dates, there are not the same black and white rules for churches.  This leaves our leadership in the difficult position of trying to decide how and when to welcome back our congregation to our building.  This re-opening should be very well planned and intentional with the safety and well being of our church family in mind.  Although it is currently permissible for churches to meet, we do not believe it is the right thing to do in the immediate future.  Amarillo has recently seen our positive cases grow exponentially in the last few days and we believe that fact should greatly factor into our decision.

As much as we long to meet again in person and have that personal contact that we so desperately have been missing, we feel we would be reckless in opening too quickly.  As of right not we do not have a specific date that we will be reopening but it will be soon.  Please be praying for our leadership as we seek God’s wisdom in the best way to meet both our physical and spiritual needs.  We thank you for your patience and prayers and look forward to the day that we can once again come together!
