What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Mission Statement

To create disciples, impact the community around us and connect people to biblical community through advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We will achieve this goal through the adherence to five non-negotiable truths that will guide all aspects of the Ministry.

A high view of God – To know Him
We exist for God’s glory, and as such, we must know who He is, honor Him and worship Him in all aspects of life, inside and outside of the church.

Absolute Authority of Scripture – How He’s known
In our culture, the Bible is consistently being attacked.  We believe that every word that proceeds from the mouth of God is to be cherished, obeyed and taught.

Sound Doctrine – Drawing truth
If we are committed to His word, then we should be faithful to its truth.  This comes through the discernment of divine truth and making it clear to the church body.

Personal Holiness – Application of Truth
In a morally corrupt society, we as a church must draw spiritual lines.  We feel that believers are called to a certain purity of life that not only glorifies God through our own actions but also in the conduct that others may observe in us.

Spiritual Authority – Oversight to the flock
Christ is the head of the church, and He has mediated rule through Godly Elders to shepherd, encourage, equip, love and correct those under their care.

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of The Loft Church:  based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We believe that all Scripture is the inspired word of God and as such is authoritative, infallible, inerrant, and sufficient.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Matthew 4:4; Acts 1:16: 2 Peter 3:16; Proverbs 30:5; Numbers 23:19; Revelation 22:18-19.

We believe that there is only one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
John 1:1-5; 1 John 5:7-8; 1 Corinthians 13:14.

We believe that all humanity—Christ excluded—is sinful by both birth and action and that the deserved punishment for sin is eternal torment in hell.
Romans 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:3; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8-10; Revelation 20:10-12.

We believe there is a real heaven and a real hell.
 Isaiah 66:1; Acts 1:11; John 14:2; Revelation 21:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Luke 16:22-24; 2 Peter 2:4.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully man.
Matthew 1:18, 24-25; Luke 1:35; Luke 2:52; John 1:1, 20:28; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 1:1.

We believe that Jesus Christ died as the sinless, sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin; physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven – sitting at the right hand of God, and will one day physically return to judge the living and the dead.
Luke 4:13; John 8:46; John 3:16; Romans 3:25; Hebrews 2:17; Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-53; John 20:1-21:25; Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-11; Matthew 24:44; John 14:3; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 22:20

We believe that only through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God.
Romans 10:9-10; Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38; John 1:12.

We believe that regeneration is the sole act of God the Holy Spirit through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Ezekiel 36:26-27, Ephesians 2:4-5; Colossians 2:13; James 1:17-18; 1 Peter 1:3.

We believe that the church exists as a community of believers for all time and that Christ is the head.
Ephesians 5:25; Ephesians 1:22-23; Matthew 16:18; Act 2:47

We believe the greatest command is to love God and love others.
Matthew 22:36-40

We believe we are created to glorify God and share the good news of Christ.
Rom. 15:5-7; Eph. 2:10

We believe God the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, revealed God’s word to the Old Testament prophets and New Testament apostles.
Numbers 24:2; Ezekiel 11:5; Zechariah 7:12
